Stainless steel 304 washers are usually used in various industries, including paper, food, refrigeration, and chemicals. As a result of the chromium content in stainless steel 304L washers, they are highly resistant to oxidation. They deliver excellent formability and ease of fabrication. 304-grade washers are designed to withstand extreme stress loads. The hardened temper is easy to achieve with grade 304L.

There are five mechanical and physical properties of stainless steel washers: density, melting point, tensile strength, yield strength, and elongation.

A stainless steel 304/304L washer is used in a wide range of industries, including furnaces (recuperators, fans, burners, doors, pipes), food processing industries, petrochemical and petroleum refineries for flares, recuperators, tube hangers, power generation for tube hangers, coal burners, cement plants – burners, burner shields, wind boxes feeding, and thermal process plants for annealing covers and boxes.

There are many advantages to stainless steel, including excellent formability, good strength-to-weight ratio, ease of fabrication and cleaning, excellent toughness at cryogenic temperatures, and corrosion resistance.

A low content of grade 304l is ideal when severe oxidizing conditions are present due to its excellent resistance to intergranular oxidation.

In addition to mechanical testing and chemical analysis, corrosion tests, die penetration tests, chloride contamination tests, microstructure tests, positive material identification tests, hydro tests, surface roughness tests, etc., are included in the documentation. Stainless steel grades 316 and 316L need to be annealed at temperatures between 1900 and 2100 degrees Fahrenheit before being quenched quickly.

Due to its extra carbon content, grade 316 stainless steel has higher strength and better corrosion resistance than grade 316L.

In projects that require a lot of welding, grade 316L is the best choice. Although grade 316 is more prone to weld decay than grade 316L, it is also an excellent stainless steel for corrosion and high temperatures, which makes it more popular for marine and construction projects.
